Dr Gemma Strickland
MBBS (Hons), FRACP

 

Gemma grew up in Swan Hill and was awarded a Rural Medicine scholarship to study Medicine at Melbourne University. She completed her medical degree with Honours in 2003.

Gemma undertook her Rheumatology training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital. She was awarded the Ken Muirden Overseas Training Scholarship and undertook a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath (UK) before returning to Australia to commence work as a Rheumatologist at Barwon Rheumatology in 2012.

Additionally, Gemma is a Visiting Medical Officer at University Hospital Geelong, St John of God Geelong and the Epworth Hospital Geelong.

She is a lecturer at Deakin University and has published research in Scleroderma and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Gemma is passionate about exercise and can be found at the gym or swimming laps at the pool most days before work.
